My Story

This year, I earned my MA in English from the University of Vermont where I also taught written composition to undergraduate students. This experience solidified my love of teaching as I was fortunate to work with students of various learning needs, interests, and strengths. I am excited to be the Grade 7 English teacher at McLean!

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be an educator. I come from a family of wonderful teachers. My mom has taught elementary education for nearly thirty years; my grandfather is a former middle school social studies teacher and administrator for four decades. Shaped by their influence, I strive to foreground kindness, enthusiasm, and curiosity in the classroom.

My areas of interest include creative writing, music and sound studies, and composition. I have always been fascinated by interdisciplinary learning and work to help students make connections across subjects. My love of music has led me to incorporate multimodality into my teaching which are some of my students’ favorite lessons! Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, crossword puzzles, playing golf, attending live music events, spending time with my family on the Jersey Shore, and trying new restaurants with my partner.
