My Story

I am excited to return to the classroom as the grade 8 Literature teacher in the Middle School. I began my career as a middle and high school English and language arts teacher after graduating from Rutgers University. After earning a Master’s of Educational Leadership and Doctorate in Curriculum in Instruction, both from George Washington University, I have worked as a school leader, teacher educator, curriculum developer, and instructional and leadership coach. Last year, I took a year off from school and conducted research to write a book about learning. Prior to that, I served as the Principal at Shepherd Elementary, and before that, I worked as the Chief Academic Officer for E.L. Haynes Public Charter School. I have lived in the District for twenty-six years, have three children, and a Goldendoodle. I enjoy cooking, playing cards, pilates, golf, and pickleball.
