I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri but I’ve lived in Chicago, Paris, France, and now Baltimore. I have a BS in Business Administration from Fontbonne University in St. Louis and in my first career I worked in banking and bank regulation for more than 17 years. Upon entering my second career, I came back to my first love, writing and literature and found my way to teaching. I went on to earn an MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins, an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Kent–Paris and an MS in Communications from Northwestern University. Upon leaving banking and finishing graduate school I worked as an Adjunct Instructor and taught English 101 at George Mason University and the Community College of Baltimore County.
I’m very excited to be part of the English Department at McLean and the McLean community. I appreciate the great people and the School’s approach to the instruction of language and literature. I’m also glad to be a part of a strong team preparing students to be good readers, writers, and thinkers.
In my spare time, I write fiction, read everything, and I spend time relaxing with my husband. I’m also an avid traveler and go as often as I can and I’m an adventurous home cook.
