I grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland and have a BA in Humanities and Comparative Literature from Brigham Young University and a PhD in Comparative Literature from the City University of New York. In 2016, after teaching literature at Hunter College in New York for several years, I returned to Maryland and began teaching at McLean. I love hearing and reading my students’ profound thoughts about the literary texts that we tackle in class, and I strongly believe that reading good literature can teach us to think clearly and empathize with others. In my spare hours I love spending time with my twelve nieces and nephews, making and listening to good music, and enjoying the many interesting sights in the DC area.
