I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a major in Japanese, a minor in TESOL, and much enthusiasm for taking on an English teaching job in Fukuoka, Japan. I taught children from ages 2-18 and got to try on many other roles such as cooking instructor, summer camp counselor, and performance supervisor.
Over the last decade, I learned so much about my values, my strengths, my weaknesses, communicating with others, and how small the world truly is in the end. I firmly believe living abroad is an experience that everyone should have at least once and I cannot wait to travel to more countries going forward.
In coming back to the United States, I needed my work to be connected to children and education in some fashion because of how they make me smile and keep me on my toes. I am so excited to serve McLean students, parents, faculty, and staff and to harmonize the work and play flow from behind the scenes.
