My Story

It’s a pleasure to be part of the Middle School team as a grade 7 English teacher. This will be my sixth year teaching, and I am so thankful to get to do what I love most every day – introducing young people to the wonderful world of the written word. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hollins University, with research focusing on child development and social in-group/out-group theory. I am currently working on my MFA in Playwrighting. My original theatrical works have been produced in Virginia and Pennsylvania at both the high school and university levels. I have also performed my music up and down the coast with my touring company.

I grew up in Austin, Texas, before journeying to Virginia for my undergraduate studies. Following undergrad, I lived in Roanoke, Virginia, for several years before moving to Maryland in 2023 to teach full-time. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, trying new recipes, traveling to play in card- and board-game tournaments, and spending time with my partner and cats.
