I am a proud faculty member and an alum of McLean School. I joined as a faculty member in 2013, after graduating with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Towson University. I received my Masters in Special Education from American University in 2019. Other certifications and accomplishments include Orton-Gillingham Training, Writing Revolution, and the A. Hamilton Bishop III Award Winner for 2023. Other activities at McLean that I enjoy participating in and leading are the Spirit Committee, Taylor Swift Club, Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach, and Girls Varsity Softball Coach. One of my favorite lessons to teach comes at the beginning of the year. I call it, “Things We Can’t Do Yet” I explain to the students that throughout life, they will face challenges, but if we put in a little grit we will be able to achieve them. After the lesson, each student chooses a goal that they would like to achieve either in life or for the school year that we display all year as a reminder. Some goals students have chosen include becoming president, running a marathon, and traveling the world.
When not at McLean, I enjoy spending as much time outside with my husband exploring our town of Frederick, Maryland.
