My Story

I’m excited to be part of the McLean School community because of the chance to work closely with students and share my love of all things mathematics. I enjoy puzzles and logic problems, and was excited to visit the Galileo and Leonardo da Vinci Museums in Florence, Italy. Yes, you can apply math in real life situations—I once used the Pythagorean Theorem to figure out how many feet of Christmas lights I needed for my window, and I exercise my probability muscles playing Blackjack and Poker. Don’t forget to ask me about the most strategic properties to own on the Monopoly board. Away from the game table, my cooking specialties are chicken tikka masala and risotto (not served together).

I’ve lived in nine states, and received a Bachelor’s degree in statistics from Florida State University (with minors in math and history), then a Master’s in teaching from the University of Virginia. In between those two adventures, I worked at a consulting firm for a year, where I was lucky enough to both meet my wife and decide that the business world was not for me.

It’s a special treat for me to share not only my fondness for Boston sports teams and 80’s movies and music with my kids Serena and Ben, but my commute to work, as well. We’re all looking forward to an exciting first year at McLean School.
