My Story

I was born in Washington, DC and raised in North Carolina. I really missed Maryland, so I returned to the area to attend Montgomery College and the University of Maryland where I graduated in 1999 with a degree in Fine Arts. Twenty-three years ago, I began teaching in Prince George’s and Montgomery County Public Schools before transitioning into the private school sector. Throughout my career in education, my love for children and creating a fun learning environment keeps me motivated and inspired. In addition to teaching, I directed Before & After School Care programs and summer programs for Redeemer Christian School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Psychology and Art Therapy. I love helping children discover their natural creativity and different ways to understand new concepts, while building their academic foundation.

Two of my greatest accomplishments in life was getting married and having two sons who are a wonderful blessing to me. My eleventh grader and fourth grader both attend McLean School and love the nurturing environment. We love spending time together, traveling to new places, and watching super hero movies.
