Database & Annual Fund Support ManagerEmily Swinehart ’94
My relationship with McLean School began when I joined the Middle School as a fifth-grade student in the late ’80s. It was here where I found my self confidence, my voice, and two of my still dearest friends. McLean laid the foundation for many of my positive academic and extracurricular experiences as I moved on to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School for high school (McLean only went through grade 9 back then) and then to Gettysburg College where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English.
In 2007 my life came full circle when I returned to McLean as an Administrative Assistant for Admission, After School, and SummerEdge Offices. Upon my return, I was greeted by some familiar faces from my childhood: my former teachers. They, along with the rest of the McLean community, welcomed me back with the same warmth I remembered from when I was a student. It was that warm and welcoming feeling that set McLean apart then and continues to today.
Three years later, I became the Assistant to the Director of SummerEdge and After School Programs. My responsibilities grew over time to include Mustang Activities and SummerEdge registration management, database configuration and maintenance, Mustang Activities, and SummerEdge billing, and much more. I had many wonderful years supporting all of McLean’s auxiliary programs.
In the fall of 2023, I transitioned to my current role as Database & Annual Fund Support Manager for the Development Office. Working with our families and friends in this new way has been an exciting development in my enduring relationship with McLean.
In my spare time, I enjoy singing and studying music theory, sharing my cooking adventures online, and spending time with my parents on their farm.
