My Story

I previously taught at Lehman High School in the Bronx, NY specializing in teaching Chemistry and Biology to students with learning challenges, such as ADHD, autism, ED, and other services that require an IEP. The reason why I’m most excited about teaching at McLean is that I get to continue sharing my passion for sciences to a diverse community of students. I believe that science (especially physical science) can be one of the most difficult subjects to grasp, but it is also one of the most accessible subjects out there. I push for skepticism, curiosity, observation, and logic in my classroom in a way that challenges everyone participating. My favorite questions are “Why?” and “How?” and the way we discover those answers are even better.

I have a BS in both Biochemistry and Forensics from the University of Maryland and a MST in Adolescent Education from Pace University. Before classroom teaching, I worked as a teaching assistant for an Organic Chemistry Lab, a wedding photographer, a graphic designer and an intern at the Montgomery County Police Department with the Forensics Division. My wife claims that I have “too many” hobbies, but I like to think of myself as well rounded. Hopefully my interests in video games, entomology, woodworking, Dungeons & Dragons, cooking, backpacking, photography, or even pizza making are relatable to the students in the classroom. I just love to learn and wish to share that love for discovery with my students.
