Physical Education & HealthChristy McCauley

My Story

I have a huge passion for teaching, coaching, and learning. I am a staunch believer in the power of professional development, because learning never stops. I have a Bachelors degree in Physical Education and Health from UDC, a Masters in Athletic Administration from Ohio University, and a Masters in Educational Technology from the University of Maryland University College.

In my free time, I am an avid traveler who also loves to stay active. My most memorable trip was to Iceland in 2018 to see the northern lights in the winter. I am a golfer, tennis, and pickleball player. My goal is to golf in all 50 states. I have seven states to go. I currently golf on a national amateur golf tournament tour where I won Local Player of the Year 2021 for North Carolina. I am a licensed soccer coach and I will be working on obtaining a PGA teaching certification in the near future. The thing I love the most is spending time with my family and friends.

I am excited to be part of the McLean community again. I first taught Physical Education at McLean in the early 2000’s. I have come full circle. My goal is to provide my students with an opportunity to develop and improve their social and physical skills, while also motivating them to have a lifelong desire to stay fit, active, and emotionally and mentally healthy.
