My Story

I am a native Washingtonian, with a BA from The College of Wooster in Ohio and an MA in Modern European History from The George Washington University. I teach grade 10 Western Traditions and grade 11 Modern World History, with a focus on philosophy, culture, and formal debate. I came to McLean because of its wonderful reputation for creativity in the classroom and working with students with a wide range of learning challenges and strengths. I take my grade 10 students every year on a field trip to the National Gallery of Art and the National Museum of Asian Art. It’s a great opportunity for the students to see ancient and medieval artwork that ties into the curriculum we have studied and for us to use the resources our city has made available.

Along with teaching, my passions are politics, travel, and spending time with my family.
