McLean School and Episcopal High School will co-host an HBCU Summit and College Fair – The Past, Present, and Future of HBCUs in Today’s America. The Summit will feature a Keynote Panel of Senior Admissions Representatives from several prominent HBCUs. Panelists will discuss the current state and future of HBCUs.

Registration includes a Keynote Panel, Student Panel, Scholarship Workshop, and the College Fair. This college event is intended for families and students to discover the value of a college education and experience at historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). There will be dozens of HBCUs represented, and attendees will be provided the opportunity to learn about the rich history of these institutions.

In today’s climate, all colleges and universities are facing challenges, and HBCUs are no exception. The featured Keynote Panel will educate families and students about the reality and future of these institutions. There is a rich history of producing exceptional doctors, lawyers, engineers, and other professionals for decades, and of making great contributions to our society.

The Student Panel is intended to provide insight into the culturally diverse and nurturing environment at HBCUs. This student perspective will help attendees learn first-hand about campus life and other factors associated with attending an HBCU. The Scholarship Workshop addresses questions like how to find money for college and strategies for covering the rising cost of attendance.

The College Fair features Admissions Representatives and Alums. This will allow students to increase their knowledge of HBCUs and the college admissions process. This is an opportunity to enhance your understanding of the benefits of these schools, gather admissions materials, and consider the overall value of attending an HBCU.

A Food Truck is available for attendees.
