McLean is delighted to welcome everyone for an evening of conversation on the timely and important topic of AI and Your Child: A Parent’s Guide to Understanding and Managing Risks. Artificial intelligence is transforming how we learn, work, and communicate—and for our children, it will be as fundamental as reading and writing. In his talk, Mr. Kenz will share why AI literacy matters for every child, regardless of career path, and how schools and families can help students develop the critical skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven world. Drawing on his experience working with more than 20 institutions and 2,000 educators, as well as his published research, we will explore:

  • How AI is already reshaping classrooms, assessment, and the workplace.
  • What it means to use AI responsibly, effectively, and creatively.
  • Why AI literacy is less about technical expertise and more about human skills like independence, judgment, and critical thinking.
  • Practical strategies for parents to support their children in developing healthy, productive relationships with AI tools.

Parents will leave with a deeper understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that AI presents, along with ideas on how to guide their children in using AI as a learning partner.
