I have always loved being part of the learning process with students. I began my career with a BS in Elementary Education from Valparaiso University. I taught second grade while I earned my Masters in Counseling from Johns Hopkins. After completion of my degree, I worked for 17 years as a school counselor in an independent K-8 school in Northern Virginia. One aspect in my counseling role was to help students and parents navigate the high school admission process. This led me to transition into an Assistant Admission Director position at an all girls boarding school. I thoroughly enjoyed my work in admissions, but I began to miss the other aspects in school counseling I found exciting and energizing. This led me to McLean. I have attended many meetings at McLean over the years and known the school to be a leader in transformative education. I am thrilled to be at McLean in a school that celebrates individual differences, collaboration, and innovation.
