My Story

I have always loved math and working with numbers. After completing my different field-placements in my undergraduate journey, I found a love for teaching math. I enjoy finding efficient strategies that work for all learners, connecting math to the real world, and helping students discover the beauty of math. I believe every student should see themself as a confident mathematician. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Stevenson University and Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction for Social Justice from Loyola University Maryland. After graduating from Stevenson, I taught elementary and middle school math to students with dyslexia and other language learning challenges, in addition to serving as a Department Chair for the Math Department. I have also served as an adjunct instructor, teaching a Math for Educators course for the School of Education at Stevenson University. I have presented at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Regional Conference (2023) and Annual Conference (2024). I presented on efficient math strategies that go beyond the standard algorithms and work for all learners. Outside of education, I enjoy hiking, spending time with my family and friends, and being active outdoors.
