My Story

I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of the McLean School community. As a teacher, I strive to make learning feel like magic—a joyful, meaningful experience where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to grow.

I’m currently pursuing dual certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (expected December 2025), building on a background in English, Communications, and years of experience working with students in both traditional classrooms and creative settings. My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that school should be a safe haven—a place where curiosity is celebrated, mistakes are welcome, and every student is encouraged to be their whole, wonderful self.

In my classroom, you’ll find flexible seating, visual schedules, hands-on activities, and lots of laughter. I love creating lessons that blend structure and spontaneity, especially for students with learning challenges like dyslexia, ADHD, or academic performance anxiety. Whether we’re turning stories into skits, celebrating world holidays, or dancing our way through a math problem, I aim to spark joy and connection in everything we do. I also have all my teacher supplies in pink, because it’s really hard to be in a bad mood when you’re surrounded by such a fun, happy color!

Outside the classroom, I’m a children’s book author, playwright, and stand-up comedian—which comes in handy when you need to think on your feet or turn a tough day around with a well-timed joke! I also geek out over curriculum tools like Eureka Math, Benchmark Advance, and Really Great Reading, and I’m always looking for new ways to blend creativity with evidence-based instruction.
In the spirit of Mary Poppins, “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and—SNAP!—the job’s a game.” That’s the energy I bring into our learning space every single day, pink accents and all!
