At 18 years old, Daniel Adum is a man of many talents: musician, actor, athlete.

“I’m a three-sport athlete in lacrosse, soccer and wrestling,” he said.

What wasn’t clear for the senior at Mclean School in Potomac, Maryland was where he’d go to college.

“In reality, my other options for college were looking pretty slim,” said Adum.

Not anymore. “You have been selected as a Dorsey Scholar!” announced employees from McDaniel College on Skype.

It was a life-changing virtual announcement from the academic institution in Westminster, Maryland.

Adum has received the school’s highest honor: a Dorsey Scholarship that covers tuition, room, and board for all four years.

“It’s definitely an honor and a privilege and a blessing to receive such a prestigious award,” he said.

The Dorsey Scholarship also provides money for books, technology, and a trip to Budapest.
