My Story

When I was a teenager, I wanted to grow up and become a professional student. I was hoping the college would pay me to take their courses! As it turns out, this job doesn’t actually exist, but I found the next best thing: teaching! I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Hood College and an advanced professional teacher certificate from Maryland State Department of Education. I am always looking for new educational experiences, so my journey as a learner is far from over. I

love math; it has always been one of my favorite subjects. I believe everyone is a math learner. I strive to help every student see themself as a math learner, further develop their math identity, work toward their full potential, and see the beauty in math. We work hard in math class, but we also have fun.

Teaching at McLean is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has been transformative.

In addition to my love of learning, teaching, and math, I enjoy my dogs, reading, playing games, spending time with friends and family, painting, browsing the internet for new and interesting things, and spending time with my nephew. It’s a good day to do math.
