My Story

I come from a long line of teachers, and many of my family members have been or are currently educators. I started teaching by being a long-term substitute teacher at Sandy Spring Friends School, and after less than a week, I knew that teaching was what I wanted to do. After being a long-term substitute, I moved to teaching science at Fusion Academy in DC for a few years, before moving back to Sandy Spring Friends School full-time. There, I was able to teach with my mom for a year and a half before her retirement. I love teaching science. Science is all about learning- science knows it doesn’t know everything, otherwise it would stop.

Outside of teaching, I was a competitive swimmer for most of my life, including through college, but I enjoy most sports. You can find me at every Washington Spirit home soccer game, screaming along to the supporters’ chants. I also enjoy crocheting and discovering new spots in DC.
