My Story

I was raised in Chicago, Illinois, and I completed my BS at Bowdoin College and then an MSEd at the University of Miami. I have worked in education for over 30 years. The journey started with boarding schools in the US and then as the Assistant Director of International Admissions at the University of Miami. This experience has given me extraordinary insight into what the college or university hopes to find in an applicant.

After Miami, life took me to Madrid, Spain, as the Director of Student Services practicing college guidance at International College Spain, a private school in Madrid. I moved to South Korea from Spain where I worked as the Developing Director of International Guidance and Outreach helping to place top Korean candidates in competitive US schools. Most recently, I came from TASIS England, where I was the Director of College Counseling and Student Services. At TASIS, The American School in Surrey, UK, I worked with many students with learning challenges to find their dream school in the USA.

Having overcome different learning challenges in the home, from language barriers to OCD, and physical disabilities to ADHD, McLean School is a special destination for me and a homecoming in several ways. Patience truly is a virtue and experience has me taught that, but equally important virtues are empathy and intuition. I have high expectations of students but I also have high expectations of myself. I was delighted to join McLean School in July 2021 and continue to feel pure gratitude for being a part of this kind community. I am lucky to continue to grow as a professional while continuing to dedicate myself to helping students with this important and exciting next step in their life journey.
