English & Literature
I am passionate about education, writing, literature, and literacy. I am a bibliophile through and through. I have studied literature at Haverford College, The University of Aberdeen and The Catholic University of America. I like to bring my energy and passion into the classroom to show students, by example, that their academic pursuits can be their passions as well. I know that not all students will have the same reaction to Henry James or George Eliot but the worlds created in books are vast and I do believe there is an author for everyone. Being open to exploring the written worlds can help students to develop their own passions, and knowing whether or not those passions will lead them to their future careers, or help them develop as individuals, those interests are important. Exploring literature and building literacy skills is such a crucial skill for students to learn in order to become critical thinkers and achieve their future goals.
