Natalie Stapert

Interim Head of Upper School

With over 20 years of experience across independent and public school settings, Natalie Stapert is a seasoned educator and administrator known for her thoughtful, student-first approach. Since joining McLean School in 2021 as the K-12 Reading Coordinator, she has also served as the Assistant Head of Upper School, focusing on the intersection of academic excellence and student life.

Natalie’s leadership experience across multiple levels of education provides her with valuable insight and expertise. In her previous role at the Lowell School in Washington, D.C., she oversaw curriculum and faculty development in reading, writing, and social studies, ensuring a cohesive and innovative educational experience for all students. Highlights of her work include: implementing inclusive, student-centered learning models; designing comprehensive K-12 curricula; strengthening academic programs through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and fostering supportive school cultures that celebrate the individual learner.

Natalie earned a Master of Science in Independent School Leadership from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Shippensburg University. A dedicated advocate for educational innovation, she brings a broad, relational perspective to her work with students, faculty, and families.

Actively engaged in professional growth and curriculum design, her interest in inclusive education—together with an unwavering commitment to the needs of individual students and families—helps school communities thrive.
