Art

Art Teacher. DC Native. Lover of Sunglasses. Loyal Friend. For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of guiding young artists through creative exploration and curriculum design across Northern Virginia, DC, and Arizona. I am excited to bring my passion for the visual arts to high school students at the McLean School! Growing up, traditional instruction often felt limiting to how my brain worked. Visual and performing arts became my sanctuary because my teachers encouraged me to see the world differently. As an educator, I am committed to creating an inclusive, empowering creative space where every student feels seen and supported. I earned my BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed teacher preparation coursework at Greensboro College.

Outside the classroom, I love reading about gardening, astronomy, history of civilizations, and world’s religions — the big questions of where we came from and how we make sense of it all. I’m also deeply passionate about environmental sustainability, and I’m forever finding ways to upcycle both natural and manufactured materials into something new.
