Adrian Moore

Adrian Moore is a former lawyer and a retired teacher. Working now on various historical research projects, he was from 2016-2026 a humanities teacher in McLean’s Upper School, serving for four years as the History Department chair. Outside of the classroom, Adrian helped lead the production team behind Upper and Middle School Fall plays and Spring musicals. He also worked on McLean’s Strategic Planning Committee and with the AI study group.
Prior to coming to McLean School, Adrian taught at a Washington DC Charter School, the International School of Lausanne, and the French-speaking École Germaine de Staël in Aubonne, Switzerland.
Before becoming a teacher, Adrian was for 14 years a partner in the international law firm Baker & McKenzie based first in Moscow, Russia and later in Geneva, Switzerland. His practice focused on advising North American and European investors on real estate and related financing in the countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
Adrian holds a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University, an MA in Cultural History & Historical Research from Birkbeck College, London University and an MA in Teaching History from the Institute of Education, London University. He is the proud father of a McLean graduate – Raven ‘18 – and lives with his wife Karen in Potomac.
