Interim Assistant Head of Upper School

I have spent over a decade in education, in both independent and public schools, and my favorite part of teaching is helping students build the confidence and skills they need to succeed as learners. At McLean, I previously served as a Grade 6 teacher and the K-12 Academic Technology Specialist, two roles that deepened my commitment to meeting students where they are and fostering engaging experiences that put students first. In addition to supporting teachers and students at McLean, I have also worked extensively on developing the school’s AI-enabled learning strategy and helping faculty think of meaningful and practical ways to engage with the ever-changing technology.

Prior to education, I spent several years in journalism, working in roles ranging from social media management and editing to multimedia reporting and web design. I have a double degree in journalism and art history from the University of Maryland (go Terps!) and a Master’s degree in elementary education from The George Washington University.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time with my husband and our two daughters. These experiences shape my curiosity and enthusiasm, qualities I bring into my teaching as I encourage students to discover and love learning.
