Jennifer Wolfsheimer

Jennifer Wolfsheimer is the proud parent of two daughters, including McLean School Student – Talia, ’31.
Jennifer is a national expert in disability rights and special education policy for children with disabilities birth through 21. With over 20 years of experience leading large-scale projects, Jennifer specializes in evaluating and building the capacity of state agency staff in areas such as special education data, dispute resolution, and general supervision under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). She has led national monitoring activities focused on states’ compliance with their general supervision responsibilities under the IDEA. Currently, Jennifer leverages her legal and policy experience to support states with the implementation of federal and state statutes, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance while also supporting improving outcomes for students with disabilities.
An expert in policy analysis and its impact on people with disabilities, Jennifer is a nationally sought-after speaker on topics such as ableism, special education, and advocacy, particularly from her unique perspective as both a mother and a woman with a disability.
Jennifer also serves on the Ivymount Corporation Board of Directors. Jennifer holds a BA in Political Science and Women’s Studies from San Diego State University, an MS in Education with a concentration in Disability Policy from Syracuse University, and a JD from Syracuse University.
