Communications & Marketing SpecialistRobbie Gross ’03
I joined McLean School in 1994 as a young third-grader. McLean helped to change my life, from a kid who was struggling with academics and attention, to someone who loved school and couldn’t get enough of it. I got to see firsthand how wonderful the Lower and Middle School were, and when it was time to go to the Upper School, I decided to be a part of the first graduating class. I helped write the Student Government Constitution in my first year of high school, and think it is cool that the SGA still uses it today. After that, I became the first SGA President, and eventually became the School’s first Valedictorian. After 10 amazing years being a student, I have such pride looking back at being able to address everyone at that first graduation in 2003. McLean helped me get into my dream school, the University of Pennsylvania. There I received a BS in Fine Arts where I studied web design, graphic design, film, and animation and also took a lot of programming courses.
After college, I worked in politics for a few years before coming back to McLean as a webmaster and a teacher in the Upper School. I taught classes in web design, graphic design, photography, technology, and videography. Now, after being back at McLean for more than a decade, I am currently in the Communications and Marketing Office working on the website, social media, photography, videography, print materials, and anything else that comes through our department.
I spend my free time with my growing family and created the very popular Sports on the Hill Podcast. It has been a dream to have been given press credentials to many of the local sports teams and to cover them for more than five years. I also love to help others with graphic design, web design, and video projects. Some of my passions outside of work are to shoot underwater music videos, concert videos, family vlogs as well as to stream games, podcasts, and art on Twitch. McLean has been a huge part of my life’s journey–I have been here for more than two decades and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without this wonderful school.
