I am thrilled to be part of the McLean community as Director of College Counseling. Prior to McLean, I was the Associate Director of College Counseling at Stone Ridge and the Director of College Counseling at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. I also taught at The Ben Franklin Academy in Atlanta, GA, where I counseled students with learning challenges, substance abuse recovery, and motivational issues.
I hold a BA from Duke University and a MEd from Emory University. I have spent 18 years in school leadership positions and 17 years counseling families about the college process. My experience as a high school English teacher and Department Chair enables me to help students transform their college essays from a wisp of an idea to a finished piece.
Recently, I co-authored the book Sex, Drugs and the S.A.T.: Getting out of High School and Getting in to College with Ginger Cobb, the Head of Upper School at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.
