MS & US ASL; US Service Learning Coordinator
I have been teaching American Sign Language (ASL) at McLean since 2010, after teaching for Fairfax County. I earned my BA from Notre Dame of Maryland University and attended Gallaudet University as an interpreting/deaf education student. I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching: Initiatives in Educational Transformation from George Mason University. I love sharing my passion for ASL and Deaf culture with my students.
My outside passion is cycling and travel. I have moved 33 times since graduating from high school. Former jobs and a being a Navy wife took me to live in unique places such as Hawaii, the Philippines, and Singapore. I cycle about 3,000 miles each year on my bike. I especially enjoy riding century riding events.
The joy in my life comes from my three children: Sean, Brendan, and Morgan (and my students, of course).
