Ann Cannaliato

US STEM Teacher

McLean School embodies what I value as a teacher: adaptability, collaboration, and innovation. It has been a privilege to develop the computer science, engineering, and robotics classes for McLean’s Upper School. I have a BS in Computer Science from Loyola University and a secondary school math certification from Notre Dame of Maryland University. I have worked at Computer Sciences Corporation and Westinghouse. Currently, I’m completing my Masters in Education. I home educated my three children and offered a Robotics class for home schoolers. In 2005, my students competed in the International Trinity College Robotics Fire Fighting Contest in Hartford, Connecticut and took first place in the world, competing against colleges and universities. I have a passion for traveling to Ireland, writing novels, riding segways, playing the piano, and gardening. I am an animal lover and have three cats and a German Shepherd dog.

K-12 College Preparatory School Supporting Bright Students’ Individual Strengths and Challenges.

McLean School is an independent, co-educational, K-12 day school serving Maryland, Washington, and Virginia. McLean has for over sixty years been helping students realize their full potential by providing a comprehensive college preparatory program that emphasizes small classes and differentiated instruction. We embrace both traditional learners and ones with mild to moderate learning challenges – dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and challenges related to anxiety and executive functioning. Many of our students excel in some areas while benefiting from support in others.
