I am a Temple University alumnus and Villanova University grad school graduate. I have taught math to kids from ages 6 to 18. Each fall I volunteer at the Maryland Mathalon—a one day celebration of problem solving in Anne Arundel County that requires several months to plan. I set up the engineering challenges for over 200 middle schoolers.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing strategic decision-making games such as chess, Scrabble, Connect 4, and Monopoly with family and friends. I enjoy the fact that there is offense and defense in these games which adds to the complexity of choices each player makes.
My favorite vacation spot is Ocean City, New Jersey where my family rents a house for a week each summer. While there, we always stop at the Bashful Banana, and I often catch a Phillies game. When I need some quiet time, I read books about history, or Patterson novels. A night on the town includes dinner and a musical; it’s a family affair as the biggest Broadway fan in the house is my daughter.
I look forward to teaching 7th grade students at McLean. It is going to be a great year.
