Hannah Margolis

Grade 4

I earned my Bachelors degree from Kenyon College where I studied Anthropology, and a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Maryland. I joined the McLean faculty as a fourth grade teacher in 2014. I consider myself to be very lucky to teach fourth grade. It was an extremely important year for me when I was a child. I met my best friend and husband (two different people) on the first day of school. It was also the year I came to understand and take ownership for my own learning. I have a learning disability and it was in fourth grade that I learned self-awareness and found my center as a student. I had a wonderful teacher who supported and inspired me to become a teacher. I love McLean because we get to provide that same opportunity to students, and guide them on a similar path of self-discovery. I’m passionate about teaching but I am also passionate about the environment and my family. Outside of school I enjoy nothing more than taking my family out to a local park and skipping rocks in a creek. Cabin John Park has some prime rock skipping locations! Other little known facts about me are that I can read Mayan hieroglyphs and I am a slingshot master!
