I am a native of Baltimore and so of course it’s only natural that I love the Orioles, the Ravens, and a batch of steamed blue crabs smothered with Old Bay Seasoning! I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was about 10 years old when I used to play school with my best friend. I received my BS in Elementary Education at Towson State and then my Master’s at Loyola University with a degree in Developmental Reading. I have taught in both public and private schools in Maryland and in Naples, Florida. I started working as a fifth grade teacher at McLean in 2008 and teach math, literature, English, and social studies. I live in Harford County and have a long drive into work, so it’s a good thing I love listening to music to pass the time. I own two crazy parrots (or they own me) who constantly entertain me – a yellow nape Amazon and an African Grey. Besides spending time with my parrots, I love going to the beach, spending time with my family, and would like to become a better tennis player. McLean is a wonderful place to work and I am so lucky to be sharing experiences with such a phenomenal group of educators, caring parents, and fun loving students!
