Bridget Janson

MS World Geography/Cultures

I am the science teacher for grades 5 and 6. I have a BA in English and Art History and a MAT in Education. I love teaching science because it is about questioning and observing the world around us. I enjoy teaching life science the most. When I came to McLean, there were no animals in the labs. I brought turtles, newts, lizards, cockatiels, chinchillas, Guinea pigs and rats to both the Lower School and the Middle School labs. We study these animals to see how they learn through their senses. I am also a world traveler and have been to 21 countries and 4 continents. I enjoy speaking about my travels around the planet with my family. My passion is to bring my enthusiasm in science to my students-that brings me great joy!

K-12 College Preparatory School Supporting Bright Students’ Individual Strengths and Challenges.

McLean School is an independent, co-educational, K-12 day school serving Maryland, Washington, and Virginia. McLean has for over sixty years been helping students realize their full potential by providing a comprehensive college preparatory program that emphasizes small classes and differentiated instruction. We embrace both traditional learners and ones with mild to moderate learning challenges – dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and challenges related to anxiety and executive functioning. Many of our students excel in some areas while benefiting from support in others.
