Learning Commons Librarian
I am the daughter of an Army soldier, so I grew up all over. In fact, by the time I was eighteen years old, I had moved eleven different times. The military lifestyle truly shaped who I am today and I am grateful for all the amazing opportunities it provided me. I attended Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland and graduated with dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. After two years as a classroom special education teacher, I am now working in the Learning Commons Library. I teach library skill classes to the Lower School, as well as assist Middle and Upper School students and faculty with locating resources. My first and foremost goal is to cultivate a love of literacy in students and help them to become as excited about reading as I am. I was attracted to McLean because of its focus on individualized instruction, as this has always been a vital part of my own approach to teaching. Reading is truly my passion, and I love losing myself in stories of all types, and enjoy discussing those stories with other people. Photography is another favorite hobby of mine. Capturing and sharing moments with others brings me great satisfaction and joy. I am thrilled to be part of the amazing McLean community!
