Performing Arts

McLean’s Performing Arts program fosters self-expression through music and drama, and students who participate in these programs report a heightened sense of self-confidence and self-worth.

From Spamalot to South Pacific, the annual Spring Musical and Fall Play are always crowd favorites – showcasing the incredible talents of both Middle and Upper School students both on stage and behind the scenes.

Our K-12 music curriculum encompasses skills in music literacy, music theory, and appreciation and emphasizes performance through chorus and string ensembles beginning in grade 3.

Middle School music classes provide expanded opportunities to perform in other vocal and instrumental venues such as strings, guitar, or band.

Upper School students perform in our award-winning Jazz Band and other ensembles and perform at concerts, assemblies, music competitions, sporting events, open houses, and the annual spring musical, as well as at local venues and festivals.
