McLEAN Upper School News & Schedule
Dear Upper School Families,
I hope you had a nice week. We have had a fun-filled week with many accolades coming to McLean's Upper School students. At the Musicale Competition in Williamsburg, Virginia last Saturday, the Jazz Band won 1st Place with a "Superior" rating. The Upper School Chorus received a rating of "Excellent." Two musicians received Outstanding Solo Awards, Mickey C. '12 and Nate M. '12. The Jazz Band, the Rock, Pop, & Blues Band, and the Chorus gave a rocking performance at Wednesday night's Spring Concert.
Also on Wednesday, the Track & Field Team competed at the PVAC Championships. Congratulations to all members of the team. Several students received medals: Jordan Y. '13 received a bronze medal for the discus; DacRon H. '13 received a gold medal for the long jump; and Robbie M. '14, Jordan Y. '13, DacRon H. '13, and Jojo McK. '14 received a silver medal for the 4x100.
I congratulate all the award recipients at this morning's Sports Awards Assembly. Sloane W. '12 was named Best Female Athlete and Johannes D. '12 was named best Male Athlete.
Today we said farewell to the seniors as they go off on Senior Projects. The seniors return to campus on Monday, June 4.
Saturday, May 19 is the Prom.
Next week is our last full week of classes before final exams begin on Wednesday, May 30. I can't believe that in just three weeks, the Class of 2012 will be our tenth class to graduate! This spring has flown by.
