A season’s worth of hard work paid off for our dedicated Varsity Track team at the PVAC Championships! Coaches Tucker, Pace and Balint are extremely proud of the athletes, who wore the McLean uniform proudly and well. Thanks for a great season.
The girls’ team had some great individual showings: Spencer Carmel ‘14 finished the 100m hurdles with a new McLean record of 18.94. Spencer also set new school records in shot put at 24’04 and discus at 54’.
The boys’ team had several outstanding performances: The record-setting 4x100 relay team fought a duel in the finals, winning the silver medal by a hair. DacRon Hobbs ‘13 won the gold medal for his long jump with a new McLean-record of 19’8” that beat the field by six-and-a-half inches! Jordan Young had a strong performance as well, winning the bronze medal in discus.
