The Golden Tasting
The Lower School has been working on a Golden World program this school year. GOLDEN is McLean's Lower School character building program that fosters a nurturing pro-social school community. During the first quarter of school, the students worked on greetings from around the world, then focused on greetings of their class' country of study. The second quarter, which overlapped with various winter holidays or celebrations, the students researched and explored the ways their country of study celebrated the winter season. In line with this continuing Golden World theme, for the third quarter the students made or bought food from their country of study for a Golden Tasting. The event, Golden Foods Around the World, allowed the students to discuss and experience the foods, cooking styles, etiquette and customs of the people from their countries of study.
