The kindergarten students enthusiastically learned about dental hygiene as part of their unit of study on washing, brushing and getting enough sleep. Kindergarten parent Rosemary H. (Chance ‘24), a former dental hygienist, demonstrated to the class how to take care of their teeth. Chance’s mom had many props including Buddy her stuffed horse, who had a full set of teeth. The students learned that there are “good” foods for teeth, like apples and cheese, and “bad food” for teeth like lollipops and other sticky candy. Each student got to look in a mirror and count their teeth, and then they learned proper brushing technique with their new toothbrush!
