Hello! Welcome to 5th and 6th grade Science.

Put your thinking caps on and let the games begin! Lots of thinking and doing is on the way. We will be practicing the following skills throughout the year:

  1. Making and using models
  2. Planning and conducting simple investigations
  3. Organizing and understanding data
  4. Making and interpreting graphs
  5. Using appropriate tools for measurement
  6. Exercising math skills in the context of science
  7. Communicating information to a group
  8. Using scientific vocabulary
  9. Working interdependently with peers

During the 1st week of school we got to know one another and went over some important safety rules and procedures to follow when working in the lab. Students were given Safety Contracts to take home and review with a parent or guardian. If you haven’t done so already, please sign and return the contract.
