Take a Field Trip to the Smithsonian Latino Center
Spanish teachers Adriana Krogh and Ana Wilson’s grades 7 and 8 students took a field trip to the Smithsonian Latino Center. The Smithsonian Latino Center, in partnership with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama is featuring a program series that brings national attention to the history, land, and cultural expressions of the people of Panama. Our students became acquainted with the history, the biodiversity and importance of Panama and its canal. Afterwards, the students and their teachers enjoyed typical Latin cuisine in a local Mexican restaurant.
