McLean School of Maryland

Strings

Students enrolled in 7th and 8th Grade String Ensemble use the knowledge they have acquired on their instruments to play together as a group. There is an emphasis on sight-reading and playing in three or four parts. Rehearsals consist of scales and technique work, applying music reading skills to playing new music, and working in detail on the more demanding pieces. String Ensemble meets 35 minutes a day, four days a week.
