Using a multi-sensory approach, 6th Grade History explores world history from the beginning of civilization to the peak of Mali’s empire in the 14th century. Students examine the diverse history, culture, economy, and geography of the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, African, Chinese, Indian, and Greek civilizations. Integral to the program is the emphasis on the origins of the religions associated with these diverse cultures. The course helps to improve basic skills in reading comprehension, outlining, researching, map reading, critical thinking, and informative writing. In addition, on a regular basis, students engage in discussions based on current events.
