At McLean, we are fortunate to be able to offer a number of grants and scholarships to students entering in 2011-2012 that will celebrate our new students’ talents, recognize and identify learning needs, and maintain an equitable gender balance. These grants and scholarships, separate from McLean’s Financial Assistance Program, will also help to defray the cost of a McLean education at our school - where learning becomes accessible to a broad range of students.
Through the commitment and generosity of a Middle School parent, we offer the Empowered Learners Scholarships. The donor has funded three scholarships of $10,000 to each of three girls entering grade 5 in 2011-2012. Girls who apply for and receive these scholarships will be identified as having a learning issue, preferably dyslexia. The learning issue must be discussed in an Evaluation Report that accompanies the Application for Admission. At the current time, this is a one-year scholarship.
