McLean School of Maryland

Meet Robbie Gross

Valedictorian, Ivy Leaguer, future electronics mogul

To say Robbie was a leader at McLean School is an understatement of epic proportions. He helped write the student constitution and was elected treasurer three times. He also managed countless sports teams and worked on drama productions and community initiatives. And he did it all while earning top grades and preparing the 2003 valedictorian address.

School life wasn’t always positive for Robbie. “Before transferring to McLean, I struggled academically,” he says. “Thankfully, McLean’s teachers helped me understand my learning styles and that I could succeed.”

Robbie studied fine arts and web design at the University of Pennsylvania. “I want to be the Bill Gates of the video game industry,” he says. “But whatever I end up doing, McLean School will always be a big part of who I am and what I accomplish.”

Robbie has now returned to McLean as the Webmaster for this site and teaches computer courses in the Upper School. You can contact him at rgross@mcleanschool.org
